Pipe Repair & Replacement Services We Offer
The team at Valentine Plumbing is equipped to handle a wide range of pipe-related problems:
Pipe Blockage
Are you noticing slow drainage or backups in your plumbing system? It’s likely that you have a pipe blockage. A pipe blockage occurs usually as a result of a buildup of grease, hair, or other debris in your plumbing system.
However, if you have a larger, foreign object(s) lodged in your pipe systems, it may be time to contact a plumber. These blockages can prevent proper flow and cleaning of the line, and may ultimately lead to further problems down the line.
Pipe Corrosion
Your plumbing pipes may, over time, experience corrosion buildup. When you spot corrosion on your pipes, you should have them addressed sooner than later since corrosion can lead to leaks, cracks, and other potential plumbing issues.
The worst case scenario is that pipe corrosion can cause collapses in the line and restrict flow. If you suspect that your pipes are corroded, it’s important to act quickly to prevent further damage. Call Valentine today at (920) 788-5369.
Leaking Joints
Another common issue we see are leaking joints in our customers’ pipe systems. When the pipe seals break, it allows water to escape into the area surrounding the pipe. If not dealt with, leaking joints can, over time, cause water damage, and mold growth.
The plumbers at Valentine can quickly diagnose and repair leaking joints to prevent further damage to your plumbing system. As always, we use high-quality materials and techniques to ensure that your leaking joint repairs are long-lasting and effective. Roots in the Sewer
Over time, roots from nearby trees and shrubs can slowly invade your sewer pipe lines and cause damage. Left untreated, these roots can cause blockages and other plumbing issues. In the worst case scenario, roots in your sewer systems can cause them to collapse over time.
To prevent roots from causing significant damage, our team of plumbing experts can diagnose and repair these issues to ensure that your plumbing system is functioning properly. In fact, we use top-of-the-line specialized equipment to clear roots and prevent further damage to your pipes.
Off-Grade, Low Quality Pipes
If you have existing pipes that are constructed of off-grade or poor quality material, they may be prone to deterioration and corrosion. At first you may not notice an issue with this, however, over time, it will ultimately lead to leaks, cracks, and other plumbing problems.
At Valentine, our plumbers can assess the quality of your pipes and recommend replacement if necessary. We’ll replace your old or off-grade pipes with high-quality, durable pipes that are built to last.
Frozen Pipes
Frozen pipes can be an issue in the winter. Whenever water freezes inside your pipe system, it can lead to bursting or cracking, and an expensive emergency repair.
If you’re dealing with frozen pipes, our team of plumbing experts ASAP! The team at Valentine uses specialized equipment to thaw your pipes and prevent further damage. We can also provide you with tips and advice for preventing frozen pipes in the future.
Pipe Lining
Have a damaged pipe that doesn’t require a full replacement? The plumbers at Valentine can utilize pipe lining to restore your pipes to working condition.
The process of pipe lining involves inserting a new liner into your existing pipes, which helps to seal cracks and prevent leaks in the future.
Pipe Relocation
Finally, if you need to relocate your pipes, we can provide you with the services you need to get the job done right. Our team understands that relocating pipes can be a complex process, but our team of experts has the knowledge and experience needed to ensure that your plumbing is functioning properly.
Pipe Repair FAQs
How to repair PVC pipe?
For your PVC pipe repair, you’ll first need to cut out the damaged section of pipe using a saw or pipe cutter. Next, clean the edges of the remaining pipe with sandpaper or a pipe cleaner. Now, use PVC primer alongside the edges of the remaining pipe and the inside of the replacement fitting. Then, apply PVC glue to the edges of the remaining pipe and the inside of the replacement fitting. Lastly, insert the replacement fitting into the remaining pipe and keep it in place until the glue dries.
How to repair copper pipe?
To start a copper pipe repair, you will first need to cut out the damaged section of the pipe using a hacksaw or tubing cutter and clean the edges of the remaining pipe and the replacement fitting. Next, apply flux to the edges of the remaining pipe and the inside of the replacement fitting. Then, use a propane torch to heat the edges of the remaining pipe and the replacement fitting until they’re hot enough to melt the solder. Lastly, apply solder to the joint and let it cool. More here about replacing copper pipes.
What can I use to seal a leaking pipe?
To seal a leaking pipe, you can use any of the following: epoxy putty, pipe repair tape, or pipe sealing putty. Epoxy putty is a two-part material that hardens into a strong, waterproof seal. By contrast, pipe repair tape is a self-adhesive tape that can be wrapped around the damaged area to provide a temporary fix. Lastly, pipe sealing putty is flexible and can mold into the shape of the damaged area to create an effective seal to restore the pipe back to working, non-leaking condition.
How do you fix a broken pipe without replacing it?
To start, you’ll first want to turn off your water supply to the affected area, and then clean the area around the break using sandpaper or a wire brush. Next, you’ll need to apply pipe sealing putty to the damaged area and allow it dry. If you have a larger break on your hands, you should instead wrap the damaged area with pipe repair tape and use hose clamps to secure it. Turn the water supply back on and check for leaks. If you feel more comfortable having a plumber address a broken pipe system in your home or business, please contact Valentine at (920) 788-5369.
